There’s no easy way to say this so I shall come right out and say it, “If you don’t have the money, there’s no point going into debt with a suit from Dior Homme, ETRO or some similarly high priced menswear designer.” That said, it’s not that I don’t endorse or don’t own a few bespoke Saville Row outfits myself but what I am advocating is- conscientious consumerism. A contradiction in terms yes, but if you’ve only just begun your career and earning some dosh- You’d be better off spending your hard earned cash on rent and well made leather accessories (LanvinYves Saint Laurent, Bulgari– take your pick) that would last you a lifetime.

Put another way- age, fashion cycles, changing diets and evolving body shapes make heavy investments in designer wear a tad silly (if you spare the cash go for it; It really feels and fits better). For everything else (to paraphrase Mastercard), there’s H&M and high street labels. Ladies and gents, H&M Spring Summer 2011.
