Go the Fuck to Sleep as read by Samuel L Jackson

While I don’t endorse cussing, I do enjoy Samuel L Jackson (Pulp Fiction) narrating this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Touted as a bedtime story for tired, harassed and weary parents, Go the Fuck to Sleep is a dose of reality for super parents who manage to kitten mew and baby coo their toddler to sleep.

Written by California Book Award-winning author Adam Mansbach, this profane yet affectionate radically honest book of rhyme captures the essence and spirit of a tale worthy of putting your little angel to sleep without the hair pulling, eye jabbing saccharine sweetness of a real fairy tale.

Subversive and yet hauntingly beautiful (if you can hold your laughter), Go the Fuck to sleep is a great read for new and older parents. Though Amazon recommends you not playing it for your children due to explicit language, kids under the age of 3 aren’t going to understand the words anyway; Child psychologists agree that toddlers pretty much listen for tone.
