How America Puts You on a List Targeted for Termination

The process involves “going through the National Security Council, then it eventually goes to the president, but the National Security Council does the investigation, they have lawyers, they review, they look at the situation, you have input from the military- Bang! You are targeted for termination. [Via Slate]

The Monsieur’s Brief: Though it doesn’t state explicitly, I do believe that intelligence reports have to build a case for your termination determined on the level of threat you pose to national security. That said, these procedures are for American Nationals and they might have (and definitely unwilling to disclose) protocols for foreign nationals targeted for termination. Officially, the CIA does not sanction “hits” as Executive Order 12333 of 1981 explicitly prohibits the CIA from engaging, either directly or indirectly, in assassinations. [Via CIA]
