Menswear 2012: Definitely Not Run of the Mill

I’m ashamed to admit, I’m a little late to the party. Run Of the Mill stopped taking orders for their shoes on 26 November, but yet here I am with a small write up because I do believe theirs is a shop that is definitely not run of the mill. Beautiful, well crafted and coming in at a relatively affordable price point, Run of the Mill is one brand that has definitely entered my sartorial radar. A must watch brand for menswear 2012. I know they say past performance is not indicative of the future, I must say that in terms of style, the 3 tastemaker founders of Run of the Mill are pretty much on the dot- have a look:

Cola Suede Tassel Loafer

Featuring a leather sole (check out the gallery), I dare to venture these cola suede tassel loafers made in Italy and constructed with full leather and calfskin lining is strong competition to anything that even the likes of Tods.

Sand Suede Double Monk

Monk strap shoes are all the rage now, when it comes to double monk straps I guess the “rage” is doubly so. While suede is not exactly acceptable corporate attire for straight laced office types, in leather, double monk strap shoes are perfect dual purpose footwear- class and style. Also made in Italy. Both shoes practically sold out at launch – $435

black watch contrast collar sport shirt

While shoes have taken the spotlight, Run Of The Mill is no slouch when it comes to menswear. Solid, well fitted (trim not tight) shirts at a palatable $135. [Shop here] – My advice, refresh the page obsessively to avoid disappointment.
