Menswear 2012: Hackett London Autumn Winter

It’s hard to believe how Hackett London began from a small store on King’s Road, London Chelsea to the now nascent quintessentially british brand right next to Burberry. From once selling used sorry, vintage clothing to now, a sartorial atelier in it’s own right, Hackett London is in my opinion, the British off the rack answer to Danish superbrand suitsupply.com; if anything their men’s autumn winter collection creates more anxious anticipation while waiting for a US or Asia boutique.

As menswear grows more sophisticated thanks to better style advice, Hackett creates a suit well tailored and sharply cut for the monsieur. I’ve covered Hackett before and at publishing time, I still have not received a response on whether their 2012 Autumn winter collection of men’s suits have working buttons; though truth be told, an ex-colleague at The Rake had confessed that leaving the last button on a suit cuff unbuttoned to prove its provenance as a quality item is “pretty wanky”.

Either way, Hackett brings to the table Brit heritage and tradition and blends modern trends to create a set of off the rack creations that will stand the test of time. [Shop Hackett | More Looks for Hackett London AW 2012]
