In case you’ve been on a secret mission sans internet in North Korea, Lino Leluzzi is one man you need to know. He defines sprezzatura. In fact, if sprezzatura was personified, it would take the form of this Italian dandy. Owner of menswear boutique Al Bazar, Lino has been photographed, tumblred and now probably pinterested (is that even a word) across the net in part thanks to The Sartorialist Mr. Scott Schuman.
Lino Leluzzi at home at Al Bazar
Making an appearance in full regalia every Pitti Uomo, Lino Leluzzi follows very Agnelli-esque footsteps, crediting his father as his double-breasted wearing role model. It’s important to note that Al Bazar wasn’t always his and wasn’t always a sartorial mecca. What started out as a jeans shop soon evolved into a store that some might say returned tailored double breasted blazers into sartorial consciousness.
Where once the double breasted coat was for stuffy old men, Lino or LL as some call him, lead the revival in full rainbow form with eye popping colours and materials. A labour of love, Lino’s creations are all about style and quality.

As you might notice, thanks to the likes of Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire, we’re in the midst of a retro menswear resurgence and naturally after close to five decades worth or R&D (in this case, revive and design)- the walking billboard of men’s style is right at the head of both the street photography pile and the menswear outfitting pile.
With little money for additional advertising, the young Lino is probably responsible for another internet meme- encouraging street photography by spending all day dressed in his finest as a form of public relations. Perhaps one of the fashion industry’s most iconic faces, Lino has not only overturned the perception of the double breasted but proved to the industry at large that even portly (some say stout) as he is, the man is proof that unless long as it’s well tailored, anyone can pull off a double breasted. Lino’s secret to wearing a double breasted jacket
- Strict waist suppression- worn tight, it creates the appearance of the waist
- Wearing it casually to avoid looking like a businessman or banker
- Button the coat to what you are comfortable with
- Ignore rules, imperfection is a sign of humanity
The Trendsetter
- Possibly the progenitor of the ankle show off via shorter trousers
- Loves his jacket cuffs shorter
- Comfort is paramount- he likes his stuff unlined and un-canvased
