This blog has been slightly (understatement) overlooked and I apologise. The truth is dear fellow Monsieurs, is I’ve been busy working on another project. I’ve taken an appointment as Group Editor for a men’s luxury magazine- The Rake. You might read about it in Monocle or perhaps chanced upon a copy while getting a suit done in Savile Row?
Nevertheless, I shall endeavour to get this blog up to snuff once more now that the immediacy of cover story deadlines are over. But here’s a small taste of things to come:

Paul Smith’s collections have always embraced both the rambunctious and the subtle. Here, otherwise regular black leather gloves are accented by his signature multistripe. A viewer would only notice a sense of je nai se quoi as the wearer un-gloved.
The Monsieur meets Paul Smith
When I first learnt of the Paul Smith boutique opening at Mandarin Gallery, I was quite honestly, a little dismissive of the affair. “Yet another opening to attend?” I mused. Had I realised Sir Paul Smith himself would be in attendance, I would have had a significantly different attitude. As the wife would attest, this erstwhile editor and owner of 2 Paul Smith wallets, 1 shirt, 10 pairs of socks and numerous other P. Smithian knick knacks and accoutrements is actually a closet fanboy of the English fashion designer. [Read and SEE more at The Rake]
And in case you thought I was joking, here’s a picture of Sir Paul Smith and myself.
