Earlier in May 2015, Seiko released a collaborative series of divers with Japanese clothing retailer Nano to great success. It was a collection of 6 limited-edition, stylishly monochromatic watches under their Spirit line.
The 46mm timepieces came in stainless in varying combinations of brushed or bead blasted finishing and as far as divers watches go, they were reminiscent of vintage Tudors. Equipped with Seiko’s midrange 4r35 date-only calibre with hacking seconds, they were designed as a 10bar diver’s watch, each watch was a new interpretation of existing SKUs within Seiko’s diving range. So when Seiko and Nano universe joined forces for another collaboration, I was stoked and today I discovered, it’s a stealth chronograph which won’t cost you an arm and leg but would look like it did.
Introducing: Seiko x Nano Bespoke Black StealthChrono
It’s a limited edition 300 piece series exclusive to Nano Universe and endowed with a completely bespoke design and premium finishing. Powered by a Seiko Solar Diver’s V175 calibre, Seiko x Nano have managed to keep the costs of this pure, entirely stealth chronograph low, thus giving you the opportunity to own a strong yet elegantly chic model diver’s chronograph for a relatively affordable price.
Capable of depths up to 10 atm, the Seiko x Nano Bespoke Black StealthChrono is charged with solar energy rather than your typical kinetic-mechanical mix. On a full charge, it has about 6 months power reserve with overcharge protection built in. The 24 hour hand with stopwatch function measures intervals of 1/5 of a second up to 60 minutes. At 39mm, it may wear more classically than their previous diving watch collaboration but the timepiece still oozes a metric on of style. Delivery is expected late November 2015, so pre-order now to avoid disappointment.
Costs around USD 380. [Shop Seiko x Nano Bespoke Black StealthChrono here]
